
Phyllis L. Hoppert
December 6, 1937 - August 23, 2025
Phyllis L. Hoppert, 87, went to be with the Lord August 23, 2025, after an extended illness. She was the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Glanzman) Beck. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1955. She was a member of Trinity Luther Church and sang in the choir. She married her husband Clayton (Sonny) Hoppert on June 30, 1956, who passed away September 6th, 2019. They were married for 63 years. She raised 3 children while working as a secretary. Her last position was for the president for Michigan Gas Utilities from 1970 to 1995 when she retired.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 514. She was President of Altrusa International from 1978 to 1980 and 1985-1986. She belonged to the Ladies Aid Society at East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member. She was thoughtful, kind and generous. She enjoyed sending cards to her friends and family, always remembering their special occasions.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is mourned by her son Kim Hoppert, her daughter Bonnie Hoppert, Granddaughters, Kaitlyn Hoppert-Fox, Maddie Hoppert, and Lynn Ann (Dan) McFaul along with a Brother-in-Law, nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband Clayton L. Hoppert, Daughter Lynn L. Hoppert, her parents, sisters Esther and Lela, brothers Robert and James, sisters-in-law, Janet and Carmel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Family and friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Sunday August 31, 2025, from 4 – 8 p.m. She will lie-in- state on Monday, September 1, 2025, from 1 pm until the service at 2 p.m. at East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Monroe, MI. Pastor Curtis Garland will Officiate. Burial will be in the East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Ida, MI.
