Lela Mae Silwester

Lela Mae Silwester, 88 years old, passed away peacefully in flower Hospital with several family members with her on November 17, 2025.

Lela graduated from Bedford High School in 1955.  She went on to marry Paul Silwester in 1958, and together they raised four children over 61 years of marriage.

Lela leaves behind three sons David (Cathy), Gary, and Doug (Bobbi), and her grandchildren Brandon, Jonessa, Vanessa, Michelle, Jack, Angelica, Andy, Kevin and Halina. Lela Silwester was preceded in death by her husband Paul, son Gregory and sister Ruth as well as brothers, Donny and Larry Borchardt.  

Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation at Capaul Funeral Home in Ida, Michigan from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, November 21st. She will lie in state starting at 10 AM prior to the service beginning at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Petersburg, Michigan on Saturday, November 22nd. She will then be laid to rest at the Zion Lutheran Church cemetery.

Family and friends are also invited to a luncheon at the Zion Lutheran Church after the service on November 22nd.
