Larry Eston Hardin

February 20, 1942 - November 26, 2025

Larry Eston Hardin, 83 yrs of Ida, MI, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Toledo, OH). Family and friends may visit on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI), from 4-8PM. He will lie-in-state on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 10AM until the services at 11AM at New Life Church (Petersburg, MI). Pastor Josh Ellis will officiate. Burial will be in Lulu Cemetery (Ida, MI).

 

Born February 20, 1942, in Salem, Kentucky. Larry was the son of Jesse and Agnes (Loftis) Hardin. He attended Cooley High School in Detroit and later earned his GED from the US Army and spent two years in trade school at Henry Ford College, Detroit, MI. Larry honorably served with the US Army from September 1959 - August 1962. Larry married Donna Elliot on February 8, 1969, in Taylor, MI. He worked for the Ford Motor Company as a tool and die maker for 24 years, retiring in 1990. Larry was a member of The Trenton Masonic Temple 387, Trenton, MI and the Lions Club, Hillman, MI. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and golfing. Most of all, he cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed days at his Hillman, MI cabin, and found joy in cycling.

 

Survivors include; his wife, Donna; children, Michael (Kelli) Hardin, Steven Hardin, David Hardin, Shawn (Anthony) Maviglia, Billie Loree, Christina (Michael) Klein; sister, Marcena Hall; grandchildren, Kelsi, Olivia, Brennan, Jesse, Kasey (Seth Michaels), Zeth, Wyatt, KT (Jordan), Nicholas (Arielle Gamble), Madison (Daniel Sarnowski), Taylor, Alex, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard Hardin.
