Larry Elliot Murdock

Larry Elliot Murdock, 82 years old, passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 5th, 2025.

Born on January 21st, 1943, Larry was the son of Wesley and Doris (Hartman) Murdock. He graduated from Summerfield High School in 1961 and would later graduate from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. He worked as a Teacher at Ida Middle School teaching Math & Social Studies (retiring in 2004) and worked at Green Meadows Golf Course in the Pro Shop for 46 years (retiring in 2019).  He formed many friendships and impacted many lives during his time at both locations.

Larry married Pamela Goodin on August 23rd, 1968.  In addition to his wife Pamela of 57 years, he is survived by sons Anthony Murdock, Lanny (Crystal) Murdock, and Ryan (Jennifer) Murdock; four grandchildren Marisa, Peyton, Everly & Mila; Siblings Gary (Barb) Murdock, Michele (Rick) Bilan, and Mark Murdock.  He was preceded in death by his parents Wesley & Doris Murdock and daughter-in-law Jennifer (Steffen) Murdock.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hickory Ridge of Temperance and Beacon Ridge Hospice who went above and beyond in assisting with Larry’s care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ida Athletic or Summerfield Athletic Booster programs.

In honor of Larry, friends may visit the Petersburg VFW (Post 6509) for a memorial gathering on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, from 1pm to 5pm.
