Kenneth Harry Scott

September 29, 1959 - May 8, 2025

Kenneth Harry Scott, age 65, of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM until the time of services at 6:00 PM at Capaul Funeral Home. Friends and family are encouraged to wear Detroit Tigers gear or blue and orange in honor of Kenneth’s love for the team.

Born on September 29, 1959, in Monroe, Michigan, Kenneth was the son of Frank and Claire (Stapley) Scott. He attended Dundee High School, where he was a proud member of both the football and basketball teams. Kenneth worked for Corrigan Moving Systems in Perrysburg, Ohio, for 22 years, retiring in 2009. He grew up attending Calvary Baptist Church in Dundee and more recently found friendship and community at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Toledo, where he became Catholic before his passing.

Kenneth was a pillar of courage to his three children, showing them strength and guidance, not just by telling them how to live a fulfilling life, but by living it himself. He lived for his kids and found immense joy in being present at their events, sports, and milestones. He was an incredibly hard worker and a devoted father.

Known by many as “King Fish,” Kenneth had a deep love for the water. Whether it was fishing along the River Raisin, relaxing by the lake, or enjoying the ocean in Aruba, he found peace and joy near the water.

He was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers and took pride in collecting Tigers memorabilia. He also enjoyed golfing, mushroom hunting, playing softball, and spending time with family.

Kenneth had a natural charm and warmth, he never met a stranger. He was naturally friendly and outgoing, effortlessly making new acquaintances feel comfortable and welcome. He was also known for his quick wit and humor, always ready to make someone laugh.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Kasey Rupp-Scott, Noelle Scott, and Brooke Scott; a sister, Karen Scott; and a brother, Frank Scott Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Katrine and Kathleen.

Memorial contributions in honor of Kenneth can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause he supported faithfully for over 18 years and one that remained close to his heart.
