Jared Russell Dye
October 23, 1981 - June 27, 2025
It is with our deepest respect and admiration for a purpose-filled life that Jared Russell Dye was called home by our heavenly Father on June 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Jared endured medical challenges throughout his entire life. Despite this, Jared never faltered, gave up, or felt sorry for himself. He was the exact opposite; he was happy, outgoing, kind, loved all people, and most importantly, he loved God.
Jared was born on October 23, 1981, with a congenital heart defect, which most don’t survive. After several surgeries over the first four years of his life, Jared surpassed the expectations of his doctors and was blessed to live the next few years as a typical little boy. Unfortunately, when Jared was 9 years old, he suffered a major stroke. Again, the doctors didn’t think that he would survive. Yet by the grace of God, he overcame this dismal prognosis, which ultimately caused him to be physically disabled for the rest of his life. However, Jared never complained. He trusted in Jesus and persevered, leading a life filled with joy and having an intense passion for leading others to Christ.
Jared attended Ida Public Schools from 1986-2000 and earned his high school diploma. After this, Jared attended Monroe County Community College and graduated with his Associate’s Degree. Most importantly, Jared was a devout member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church. He enjoyed studying the Bible, singing, and preaching the Word of God. Besides this, Jared was a University of Michigan football fan and enjoyed snuggling with the dogs he owned over the years. Most of all, Jared loved spending time with his family, friends, and all people.
One of Jared’s most admirable qualities was bringing out the best in all people and loving them unconditionally. One of the nurses who worked at the Hospice Center made a special point to see the family after Jared’s passing. She expressed how blessed she was to have had the opportunity to care for him. She stated that she had gone home earlier that day with a heavy heart, saw a rainbow, and knew he was Ok. She also said that the outpouring of love and support from family and friends was like nothing she had ever experienced, and to value the special bond that we all have together.
While Jared’s passing is a tremendous loss to his family, friends, and humanity, his legacy will live on forever. Jared is survived by his devoted parents, George and Janice Dye, and his sisters: (Matt) Stephanie Powell, (Ryan) Kristen Lanz, and (Andres) Kimberly Dye. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stuart and Mary DeLand, and George and Iris Dye. He is survived by several cherished nieces and nephews, as well as a large extended family. His favorite Bible verses were John 3:16 and Psalms 118:24. Instead of donations, we are asking people to read Jared’s favorite scriptures and honor his last request to accept Jesus as their Saviour. All people can have the assurance of being reunited with Jared and our Heavenly Father one day in heaven.
The parents would like to extend special recognition to Dr. Cotts, Jared’s cardiologist. He cared for Jared like a protective father and developed a close relationship that oftentimes included laughter! Another special thank you to Hospice of NW Ohio. Their excellent care and family support were superb!
