Janice Neoma (Dentel) Simon

Janice Neoma (Dentel) Simon, age 92, of Dundee, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday June 1, 2025.  Born May 3, 1933, in Ida, MI.  Janice was the daughter of Harold and Florence (Cosner) Dentel.  On January 3, 1953, she married Bernard A. Simon.  They raised their family on their farm in Dundee where they also owned and operated Simon’s Park – a popular swimming spot in the 70’s. 

Janice wore many hats in her lifetime – she helped manage the family farm while working outside the home as a saleswoman.  She sold products most of her life – including Amway, Dutchmaid, Contempo, Queensway, and was awarded several trips for over $1 million in Home Interiors Sales. 

Janice was most proud of her family.  She was a woman of very strong faith and is remembered most for her love of God.  Her amazing strength in life is credited to her strong faith.

Janice is survived by her children Catherine Zochowski and Thomas Simon, her four grandchildren Danielle Zochowski, Stephaine (Matt) Garner, Thomas (Carrie) Simon, Jr., and Chelsea (Brandon) Desbrough, nine great grandchildren, sisters, Phyllis Sedelbauer, Ruth Stoianowski, Jean Rorke; brother, James Dentel and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard A. Simon, parents Harold and Florence (Cosner) Dentel; children Billy Simon, Michael Simon, and Timothy Simon, daughter-in-law Denise (Gauss) Simon, son-in-law Thomas Zochowski, brothers John Dentel, Richard Dentel, Robert Dentel, Dean Dentel, and sister Sharon Sullins.

Visitation will be on Saturday June 7, 2025, from 10am to Noon at Dundee United Methodist Church - 645 Franklin St. Dundee, MI 48131 - where service will immediately follow at Noon.  Pastor Shawn McGuire will officiate.

Memorial contributions can be made to Dundee United Methodist Church and / or Dundee Senior Center.
