Cheryl Lee Woelmer (Bussell), 81 yrs of Monroe, MI, died Wednesday June 18, 2025, in her residence. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Tuesday June 24, 2025, from 2-8PM. She will lie in state on Wednesday June 25, 2025, from 10 AM until the services at 11AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, MI. Pastor Aaron Werner will officiate. Cremation will occur after.
Born October 8, 1943, in Monroe, MI. Cheryl was the daughter of Murphy and Ruby (Hallers) Bussell. She was a 1962 Ida High School Graduate. She married Gerald Woelmer on June 1, 1963, in East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Monroe, MI. Cheryl worked for the Monroe County ISD as a teachers aid for 30 yrs, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and longtime member of the Mon-ARC organization, a Monroe Co. agency that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Cheryl loved to spend her days tending to her home and her family. Her beautiful yard was admired by many as she enjoyed decorating her porch for each season. In her free time you could find her at estate sales and auctions searching for a new and interesting find. Most notably, Cheryl was a friend to all. You could count on her for a great conversation that always included a good laugh.
Survivors include: her husband Gerald; children, Kevin, Scott (Wendy), Chad (Laura), Jennifer (Craig) Ford; grandchildren, Tyler (Mara), Karleigh (Lance), Kohl (Isabella Kokocinski), Andy (Bailey), Jared (Riley Delben), Madison, Sophia (Rhett Holubuick), Reid, Reese and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol Ann Finney.
