Brian Paul Hoppert

December 8, 1952 - December 30, 2025

Brian Paul Hoppert, 73 yrs of LaSalle, MI, died in his residence on Friday 12-30-2025, under the care of Elara Hospice. A visitation will be held on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, from 2-8PM. He will lie in state on Wednesday January 7, 2026, from 10 AM until the services at 11AM at East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Monroe, MI. Pastor Curtis Garland will officiate. Burial will be in East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Ida, Mi.

 

Born December 8, 1952, in Toledo, OH. Brian was the son of Merle and Betty (Sype) Hoppert. He was a 1971 Ida High School Graduate. He worked for General Motors as a Die Cast Operator for over 20 yrs, retiring in 2006. He married Debra Angerer on June 5, 1976 in East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church. Brian was a member of the LaSalle Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years even becoming a Captain and Chief, Southeast Michigan Antique Tractor Engine Association where he served as Vice President, the NRA, UAW Local 14, Monroe Rifle and Pistol Club and the Monroe Parks and Recreation. Brian loved spending time with his grandchildren becoming Coach Grandpa for the Ida Lightning and Erie Mason Football teams, guns and John Deere Tractors.

 

Survivors include: his wife, Debra; daughter Olivia (Daniel) Diehl; brother, Herschel (Gloria “Jean”) Hoppert and grandchildren, Jayce Diehl, Bryce Diehl and Kyla Hoppert. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Melissa Hoppert.
