Ronald David Strack

May 10th, 1972 - December 24th, 2020

Ronald David Strack, a former carpenter, and contractor died December 24, 2020 in the University of Michigan Medical Center after suffering a stroke Dec. 21. He was 48. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, all services are private.

Born May 10, 1972, in Toledo, Ohio, Ronnie spent his childhood in Temperance and Ida before transferring to Onsted Community Schools, from which he graduated in 1990. In school, he wrestled and played football, and was a member of the Onsted Wildcat Football Team that finished second in the state in 1993.

After school, Ronnie pursued a career in carpentry, in part because it kept him outside in the fresh air most of the time – his favorite place to be. His career was also the result of a youth spent in the family barn doing projects with his late father, Alvin. As a carpenter and licensed contractor, Ronnie built projects large and small across Southeast Michigan and was quick to volunteer his services when family or a friend was in need. Easygoing and affable, Ronnie was quick-witted and loved to share a laugh, and made friends easily.

When he wasn’t working, Ronnie spent as much time as possible outdoors -- hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and taking trips to northern Michigan.

He was a member of the East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church and later served as a volunteer firefighter in Sand Lake, Mich.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Strack, and stepfather, Don Stotz.

He is survived by his sons, Jacob and Hart Strack; daughter, Randall Strack; mother, Linda Stotz; stepmother, Sherry Strack; brothers, Chris (Lynn) and Scott (Heather) Strack, Matt (Crystal) Stotz and Pat (Ann) May; sisters Janelle Stotz and Kelly May, and grandmother, Jenny Scott.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the church, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
