Mary Jo Sorter

Mary Jo Sorter, 86, of Lake Panasoffkee, passed away July 27, 2020, at her home. Private services and burial have taken place at Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI. She was born September 3, 1933, in Morgantown, West Virginia to Earl Lemmon and Mary (Hixenbaugh) Lemmon. Mary was a member of the Lewis Avenue Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio. She was a homemaker that enjoyed life to her fullest. Mary adored her Chihuahua, Maple.
In addition to Mary’s husband of 67 years, Richard Sorter of Lake Panasoffkee, she is survived by her son: Chip (Kathryn) Sorter of Lake Panasoffkee; daughters: Debra Jo Sorter of Erie, Michigan and Kara Lea Sorter (Greg Malak) of LaSalle, Michigan; step-son: Roger Currier (Vicki) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is also survived by 52 grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Mary is predeceased by her sister Dorothy Roth and brothers: Leslie Lemmon, Buck Lemmon, and Robert Lemmon.
