James Edwin Gorr

James Edwin Gorr, 85 yrs, died Monday, December 21, 2020, in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ypsilanti, MI. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic all services and burial at Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI, are private.

Born September 27, 1935, in Monroe, MI, James was the son of Edwin and Alma (Wandt) Gorr. He was a 1953 Summerfield High School Graduate, who later earned his associate’s degree from Monroe County Community College, Monroe, MI. He married Caroline Kennon on October 1, 1953, in Petersburg, MI. Caroline died on October 11, 2008. He worked for The Ford Motor Company, Monroe, MI, Plant for 37 yrs retiring in 1982. He loved Bingo was the president of the resident council at Superior Woods Health Care Facility and loved vacationing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Jason (Amy) Gorr, Terese Reed, Melissa (Amer) Bathish; son-in-law, James Smith; sister-in-law, Shirley Gorr; sister-in-law, Beverly Hunt; grandchildren, Candace (Michael), Jamy, Sommer (John), McKenzie (Ken), Haley (Jim), Brandon (Adrienne), Cassidy (Clint), Delaney (Nathan), Chandler, Madison, Emil, Julia, Lindsey and great-grandchildren, Henry, Josie, Bryleigh, Riley, Connor, Kevin, Ryan, Elie, Liam, Cameron, Ruby, Caroline, and Nora. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, children, Diana and Constance, great-grandkids, Tanna Lynn, and Michael and brother, John Gorr.
