Theresa Ann (Golembieski) Galloro

January 1, 1931 - June 25, 2024

Theresa Ann (Golembieski) Galloro – 93 years of Ida, MI – died on Tuesday June 25, 2024, at Seacrest Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (Monroe, MI).  She will lie-in-state at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Ida, MI) Wednesday July 3, 2024, from 10am until the Mass of the Resurrection commences at 11am.  Theresa’s burial will take place at Lulu Cemetery (Ida, MI) immediately following Mass.

 

Born on January 1, 1931 – in Deaborn, MI – Theresa was the daughter of Louis and Estelle (Politowski) Golembieski.  She was a 1948 Dundee High School graduate.  At MCCC (Monroe, MI), she obtained an associate degree in 1975.  At EMU (Ypsilanti, MI), she obtained a bachelor’s degree of science in 1982 and a master’s degree of art education in 1988.  After graduating, Theresa taught at Ida Elementary School (Ida, MI), St. Anthony Catholic School (Temperance, MI), MCISD (Monroe, MI), and Whiteford Agricultural School (Ottawa Lake, MI).  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Christian Mother’s, American Legion Auxiliary Post #514, MEA and NEA, and the Bedford Senior Center.  Theresa married Vito Galloro on November 10, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Vito passed away on July 1, 1993.  When she wasn’t working, Theresa enjoyed traveling, sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking, reading, and caring for her grandchildren.

 

Survivors include her sons Philip (Patricia), Louis (Patricia), and Anthony (Marie) Galloro, her brother Louis Golembieski, her sister, Sue Beyer, her grandchildren Brandon, Alix (Adam), Joe (Brittany), Paul (Siearra), Nick (Courtney), Dan (Heidi), and Krista, and her 35 great-grandchildren.  Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters Gertrude Neuvirth and Irene Nickel.

 

Memorial contributions can be made out to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salvation Army, and / or Elara Caring Hospice.
