Patricia Sue Montri

March 12, 1942 - July 19, 2024

Patricia Sue Montri – 82 years of Ida, MI – passed away peacefully on Friday July 19, 2024, at Wellspring Lutheran Services (Monroe, MI) surrounded by her loving family.  Family and friends may visit Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Wednesday July 24, 2024, from 2pm until 8pm. The Rosary will commence at 7 pm.  Patricia will lie-in-state on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Ida, MI) from 10am until the funeral Mass commences at 11am.  Patricia’s burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery (Ida, MI) immediately following the funeral Mass.  Father Derik Peterman will officiate.

 

Born on March 12, 1942 – in Ida Township, MI – Patricia was the daughter of Charles and Bernice (Bunkelman) VanRiper.  After graduating from Ida High School in 1960, she married the love of her life, Dale Montri. Dale and Pat started dating at the age of 14 and were married on July 28th, 1962. They were preparing to celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary. They built a beautiful life together and went on to have four kids Connie, Terri, Kris, and Mike.

 

Pat dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and volunteered for many years at the St. Joseph’s Fish Fry. She was a self-employed florist and a homemaker. When she wasn’t working, Patricia enjoyed casino trips, lottery tickets, shopping, eating out, blue grass festivals. camping, fishing, and spending quality time with her family and friends – especially for Sunday family dinners. Dale would often refer to her as a gourmet chef! She was known for her trademark spunk, even until the end.

 

Survivors include her husband of almost 62 years- Dale, her son Michael (Diane) Montri, her daughters Connie (Bob) Sielski, Terri (Paul) Klocek, and Kris (Scott) Ridner, her sister Sally Smeltzer, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.  Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Tom VanRiper, and her sister Barbara Arnold. She will dearly be missed.

 

Memorial contributions can be made out to St. Joseph Catholic Church and / or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
