Florence Ann (Catlett) King

Florence Ann (Catlett) King – 87 years of Petersburg, MI – died on Sunday November 17, 2024, surrounded by family at Wellspring Lutheran Services (Monroe, MI).  Family and friends can visit St. Joseph Catholic Church (Ida, MI) on Thursday November 21, 2024, from 10am until the Mass of the Resurrection commences at 11am.  Florence’s burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery (Ida, MI) immediately following Mass.  Father Derik Peterman will officiate.

Born on November 12, 1937 – in Wyandotte, MI – Florence was the daughter of Ernie and Doris Catlett.  She was a 1955 St. Patrick High School graduate.  Florence married Kenneth King on February 11, 1956, at St. Patrick Catholic Church (Wyandotte, MI).  She worked for Ida Public Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1989.  Florence was a member of Christian Mothers.  When she wasn’t working, Florence enjoyed crocheting, gardening, playing Rummy, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Kenneth, her sons Kenneth (Michelle) and Joseph (Debbie) King, her daughter Ann (Tom) Bourke, her grandchildren Ken (Amy), Taylor, Christine (Seth), Silas, Sarah, Lydia (Brandon), Josiah (Kendal), Tommy (Arianna), Michaela (Adam), Gabriella (Isaac), and Alexander, and her 11 great-grandchildren.  Florence was preceded in death by her parents.

In leu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to Archdiocese of Detroit and / or St. Gabriel Catholic Parish / St. Joseph Catholic Church.
