Debra Kay Longstreet

Debra Kay Longstreet (65) of Temperance, MI – Passed away on Friday April 12, 2024, at Mercy Health: St. Anne Hospital (Toledo, OH). There will be a memorial gathering on Sunday June 2, 2024, from 1-5PM at the American Legion Lynn C Weeman Post 514, Ida, MI.

Born on June 25, 1958 – in Monroe, MI – Debra was the daughter of Herbert “Herb” and Joanne (Henry) Smith.  She was a 1976 graduate from Ida High School.  Debra completed the Nursing Program at St. Vincent’s Hospital (Toledo, OH) and obtained a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Toledo.  She married Dennie Longstreet in 1992 and had three sons. For 45 years Debra worked for the Mercy Health system (Toledo, OH) and MediLodge (Monroe, MI) as a Nurse Supervisor. When she wasn’t working, Debra enjoyed reading, cooking, watching M*A*S*H and Fraiser, and spending her summers in Canada with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, intelligence, and as a nurturing mother to her sons, granddaughters, nieces and nephews.

Debra is survived by her husband Dennie, her sons; Garth (Kelly), Garret, and Grant, her sisters; Vicki (Donald) Harris and Bev (Neil) Roebuck, as well as her two grandchildren; Emma and Isabelle. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Joanne.

Debra wished to be cremated, and a celebration of life memorial will be held at a later date.
