Leon Earl Wright

June 8, 1956 - June 23, 2026

Leon (Lee) Earl Wright, 70, of Dundee, MI, passed away on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, in his home, under the care of Elara Hospice, surrounded by his friends and family.

Lee was born on June 8th, 1956, in Flint, MI. Lee was the son of Douglas and Joyce (Boldt) Wright. Later in his early life, his parents moved downstate where he attended and later graduated from Dundee High School. After graduation he honorably served in the United States Army from August, 1979 to July, 1982. Not long after, he met the love of his life, Debra (Salenbien), which they married on September 21st, 1996, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ida, MI.

Lee always strived for success: through his business ventures and through his family. His business, Lee Wright Siding, was his pride, joy, and the way he supported his beloved family. In his free time, Lee could be found in the garage, working on a car or project, or helping his two sons, Benjamin and Matthew, with their own work, or outside in a lawn chair with a cold beverage in hand. Lee was a very talented man; there was nothing that he couldn’t fix – which was one of the many qualities his boys adored about him. Lee loved to travel to northern Michigan on vacations to their family cabin where they would often ride side by sides; many trips of which they have fond memories of. He also loved to travel to warm destinations, especially Florida, where he could put his toes in the sand and be in good company with friends and family. He cherished the time he got to spend with his kids, nieces, and nephews. He was also a proud member of the VFW Dundee Post 6462.

He is survived by his wife, Debra (Salenbien), two sons, Benjamin and Matthew Wright, siblings, Daniel Wright, James (Cindy) Wright, Iva (Norm) Laughlin, father and mother-in-laws, Ben (Sue) Salenbien, brother and sister-in-laws, Doug (Kris) Salenbien, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Cremation has occurred and there will be a celebration of life at a later date. Memorial Contributions can be made out to the VFW Dundee Post 6462 or Elara Caring Hospice.
