JoAnn Roach

JoAnn Roach, 82 years of Petersburg, MI, died on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at her home.  Friends and family may visit Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 3 pm to 8 pm.  JoAnn will lie-in-state at Capaul Funeral Home on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 10 am until the funeral service commences at 11 am.  JoAnn’s burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery (Petersburg, MI) immediately following the funeral service.  Pastor Josh Ellis of New Life Church (Petersburg, MI) will officiate.

Born on April 10, 1943, in Humnoke, AR, JoAnn was the daughter of Hurshel and Polly (Jordan) Rhinehart. She was a 1961 Humnoke High School graduate and attended courses at Monroe County Community College.  For 32 years, JoAnn worked at Summerfield Schools as a Paraprofessional, retiring in 2005.  She married Roger Roach on July 11, 1964, in Little Rock, AR.  When JoAnn wasn’t working, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, painting, camping, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Roger, sons Stephen (Diane) and Todd (Kerry) Roach, and six grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua (Emily), Jared (Hannah), David, Michael (Kaylyn) and Allie Roach.  JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Susan Nixon and Jean Vent.
