Elaine Mildred Mack (Schlump)

June 8, 1942 - July 18, 2026

Elaine Mildred Mack (Schlump), 84 yrs of Ida, died Saturday July 18, 2026, in ProMedica Monroe Regency Hospital. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Thursday July 30, 2026, from 2PM until the services at 7 PM. Pastor Curtis Garland of East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. Private burial will take place at a later date at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, MI.

 

Born June 8, 1942, in Monroe, MI. Elaine was the daughter of Carl and Mildred (Bork) Schlump. She was a 1960 Ida High School Graduate. She married James Mack on April 1, 1967, in East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ida, MI. James died on March 29, 2017. Elaine began her career working for DeVilbiss in 1960. She later became a legal secretary and worked for prominent attorneys in Monroe. In 1999 she accompanied the Honorable Judge Vitale to the courthouse as his court recorder. She proudly retired in 2007. After retiring Elaine and Jim enjoyed antiquing and taking trips to casinos. They loved Bay Mills resort in the UP. She also enjoyed their cottage on Bear Lake and made beautiful memories with her children and grandchildren. Elaine had a deep love for her family and made each grandchild her priority. She loved cooking their favorite dishes. Her broccoli soup, deviled eggs and Texas sheet cake were legendary! Elaine was a lifelong member of East Ida Emmanuel Lutheran Church and loved the Lord.

 

Survivors include: her daughter, Tina (Roger) Clark; grandchildren, Melissa (Aaron), Amanda, Alexander (Michelle), Brad (Jessica), Rian (Jon), Brittany (Nick), Angel (Charlie), James, Tyler and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Tracy and Tim, brother Lavern Schlump, and a granddaughter Alyssa.
