Barbara “Cookie” Carol Crowe (Vayda), 84 yrs of Petersburg, MI, passed away on July 6, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 2-8PM. She will lie-in-state on Tuesday July 14, 2026, from 10:30AM until the Mass of the resurrection at 11AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ida, MI. Fr. Christopher Muer will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Ida, MI.

Born May 15, 1942, in Toledo, OH. Barbara was the daughter of John and Margaret (Hunyor) Vayda. She was a 1959 Bedford High School Graduate who later earned her LPN from Toledo Hospital. Barbara married Ray Crowe on March 18, 1961, at Mt. Caramel Catholic Church, Temperance, MI. Barbara worked as a Nurses Aid at Toledo Hospital and various hospitals and nursing homes. Barbara loved her dogs.

Survivors include: her husband Ray; children, Raymond (Rhonda) Crowe and Cynthia (Marcel) Cassiers; and 8 grandchildren. In addition, 7 great-grandchildren, and three sisters; Nancy Zaborowski, Bonnie Reed, and Cindy Funsch. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and an infant sister.
