Rachel Ann Weiler

Rachel Ann Weiler – 75 years of Ida, MI – died on Wednesday March 1, 2023, at her sister’s residence under the care of Hospice.  Friends may call at Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Thursday March 9, 2023, from 2pm to 4pm with a memorial service following immediately after visitation.  Pastor David Vinciguerra will officiate.  Cremation has occurred.

Born on January 12, 1948 – in Toledo, OH – Rachel was the daughter of Benjamin C. and M. Fern (Ackley) Bartel.  She was a 1966 Ida High School Graduate and attended Purdue University for several work-related courses.  After graduating, Rachel worked for the corporate office of Dundee Cement.  She retired in 2010 after 21 years of employment.  Rachel married Earl Weiler on December 6, 1969, at Zion Lutheran Church (Summerfield, MI).  When she wasn’t working, Rachel loved a myriad of arts and crafts including crocheting, drawing, and painting.  In addition, she enjoyed playing Solitaire and spending quality time with family and friends.

Survivors include: her husband Earl, her son Mark B. Weiler, her sister Barbara L. Bartel, 3 grandchildren, 2 sister-in-laws, many nephews and nieces, dogs Snickers Paris, Bane, cats, and horses.  Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marion F. Bartel, her brothers Gerald N., James R., and Robert B. Bartel, half-sister Ellen Shullaw and beloved dog Ginger.
