Patricia (Patty) Marie Keesee

April 10, 1964 - October 18, 2023

Patricia (Patty) Marie Keesee, 59, died Wednesday evening October 18th, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Patty was born April 10th, 1964, in Toledo, Ohio to Harry and Doris (Siprelle) Brannan.  Patty graduated from Ida High School (’82) and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in business administration from The University of Toledo (’86).  It was there that Patty met her husband of 36 years, Rick Keesee.  Rick and Patty were married April 4th, 1987, in Ida, MI.  Job opportunities took them to Columbus, OH for several years and in 1996 they returned to Ida, where they became members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for 25 years.  Patty served as lector, Eucharistic minister, treasurer of the Christian Mother’s Society, catechism teacher and many other roles.  It was Patty’s greatest role in life to be a kind, loving and generous mother to her only son, Charlie.  Patty returned to the workforce joining the staff at Ida Public schools, where she was a secretary at Ida High School before retiring in 2019.  Patty and Rick enjoyed large family gatherings, traveling the country, visiting their home and family in Montana and Houghton Lake, MI.  Patty was also a loving and caring Grammy to her three grandchildren, and moved to Caledonia, MI in 2022 to be closer to them.


In 2012 she was diagnosed with a type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma called Mantel Cell, but it did not stop her from enjoying every moment of her courageous life. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Doris Brannan.


Patty is survived by her husband Rick Keesee, son Charlie (Jamie) Keesee, and their children Landon, Logan and Addelyn Keesee. She is also survived by six brothers, Steve of Toledo, Tom (Marcia) of Toledo, Hal (Laurie) of Grand Rapids, Mark (Tonya) of North Carolina, Dan (Lisa) of California, and Matt (Debbie) of Ida; and two sisters, Mary Lu (David) Woelmer of Carleton, Sue (Wes) Hanson of Ida.


Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Friday, October 27, 2023, from 12-8PM. Patty will lie-in-state on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 10 AM until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11 AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ida, MI. Burial will be in Lulu Cemetery, Ida, MI.
