Mary DeLand (Flory)
February 4, 1933 - March 24, 2023
Mary DeLand (Flory), 90 years of Ida, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born February 4, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio. She was the daughter of Louis and Bernetta (Iott) Flory. She married Stuart DeLand on May 30, 1953. They were blessed with 56 years of marriage, before his passing in 2009. Mary worked for Kroger in Toledo until she dedicated her life to her family and raising their 9 children.Â
Â
Mary’s primary purpose was to be obedient and faithful to God first and a devoted wife and mother second in accordance with God’s plan. She valued the family unit and believed it was a sacred blessing from God. Because of this, she spent much of her time attending and supporting church functions. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at her vacation homes in Hale, MI, and Florida. She was always ready to play cards and share a meal together. Mary was an independent and strong woman her entire life. Even until the end, she was very determined to live, yet put her full trust in God.
