Lillian Elizabeth Strickler (Ribar)

August 16, 1934 - July 25, 2023

Lillian Elizabeth Strickler (Ribar), 88 yrs, of Dundee, MI, was called home to be with the Lord & her husband, Richard (Dick) Strickler Tuesday July 25, 2023, while at Fountain View of Monroe, where she was under the care of Elara Caring Hospice. Born August 16, 1934, in Detroit, MI. Lillian was the daughter of John and Mary (Horvath) Kuzma. She was a 1953 graduate of Dundee High School. She married Richard Strickler on April 21, 1956, in St. Irene Catholic Church, Dundee, MI. 


Lil was a proud worker for The Ford Motor Company, Rawsonville, MI, where she retired and went on to work at The Village of Ida Pharmacy. She was known by all who came in as she loved to socialize and make friends. Lil played softball for the women's league in Dundee and was a diehard University of Michigan football fan where she spent many years tailgating and watching the games at the Big House. GO BLUE! She was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, who would recite her rosary daily along with her prayers for each of her children and grandchildren. Lil was referred to as one of the "Sun Goddesses" on her avid vacations to Fort Myers, FL. 


Most of all, Lil was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed her time with her large family and taught them the true meaning of unconditional love.


Lil is survived by her children: Rick (Dana) Strickler, Rob (Jamie) Strickler, Ron Strickler (Julie Savage), Chris (Keith) Lewis; sister, Chris Mier; grandchildren, Andi (Brian) Allen, Nick (Bridget) Strickler, Bobby (Alicia) Tibbetts, James (Kelly) Strickler, Gina Strickler, Ryan (Lindsey) Lewis, Dustin Lewis, Danielle Strickler, Sean (Sydney) Strickler and great-grandchildren, Maxwell Strickler, Halie Tibbetts, Gracie Tibbetts, Grayson Strickler, Giuliana Groth, Chloe Ackerman, Brayden Ackerman, Lyanna Lewis, Jenora Lewis and with another great-grandson on the way. 


In addition to her husband Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Irma Frederick. 


Friends and family may pay their respects at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 2-8PM with rosary at 7PM. She will lie-in-state on Monday, July 31, 2023, from 10 AM until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11 AM at St. Gabriel Church and Parish, Ida, MI. Lil will be laid to rest next to her husband Richard in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.


The family requests that Memorials take form of contributions to: The Dundee Volunteer Fire Department, St. Gabriel Parish in Ida or The Strickler Family.
