Ethel May Cooley (Green)

Ethel May Cooley (Green), 95 yrs, of Ida, MI, died Wednesday June 21, 2023, in Fountain View of Monroe, Monroe, MI, under the care of Elara Caring Hospice. There will be a memorial gathering at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, from 3-7 PM on Sunday July 2, 2023. Ethel will have a memorial service at 11Am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, MI on Monday July 3, 2023. Cremation has occurred.

Born May 14, 1928, in Devils Lake, MI. Ethel was the daughter of Edwin and Mary (Huyck) Green. She attended a one room school in Addison and graduated from the same school. She was a homemaker and previously worked at Ella Sharp Museum, Jackson, Cottage Restaurant, Addison, Gilbert Chocolate Factory and White Swan Tower. She talked a lot about her Senior High School Trip to Mackinac Island by boat. She attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, MI. She loved reading, traveling, crocheting, and spending time with family.

Survivors include sons, Les (Sybil) Cooley, Larry (Sharline) Cooley, Wayne Cooley; daughters, Marilyn (Paul) Ness, Marla (Dennis) Long; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Hazel (Benjamin) Day, Ruth (Ray) Jennings, Ruby (Richard) Myers, Archie (Geraldine) Green, Ervin (Helen) Green, Henry (Luella) Green; son, Roger Cooley; grandkids, Elizabeth Ness, Clay Rouff, Ryan Long and great-grandson, Gary Simmons III.
