William “Willie” Junior Berger

William “Willie” Junior Berger, 93 yrs, of Deerfield died Thursday November 10, 2022, in Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 2-8PM. He will lie-in-state on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Petersburg United Methodist Church, Petersburg, MI, from 10 AM until the services at 11 AM. Pastor Keith Lenard Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Born June 11, 1929, in Temperance, MI. Willie was the son of William and Dora (Magsig) Berger. He served with the US Army. Willie was formerly married to Jenny Breitner; she died March 15, 1973. He then married Virginia Wohlgamuth on April 19, 1991, in Petersburg, MI. Willie worked for Powertrain Toledo GM for 31 yrs, retiring on July 1, 1991. He also was a farmer. He loved to read and ride around looking at the crops.

Survivors include: his wife, Virginia; stepchildren, Kenneth (Sandy) Breitner, Donald Breitner, Thomas (Kathy) Layman, Sandra Breitner, Charlotte (David) Nagy, Joyce (Darrel) Braunscheidel, Jeanne (Donald) David; Sister, Rose Ann Sweigert; 10 grandchildren; a niece, Martha; nephew, Walt (Robin) 6 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Jenny.
