Ronald Norman Goodin

March 6th, 1945 - January 4th, 2022

Ronald Norman Goodin, 76 years old of Petersburg, MI, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice Residence (Sylvania, OH). A memorial service will take place at a later date, and cremation has already occurred.

Ron was born on March 6, 1945 in Petersburg, MI and was the son of Johnny and Bertha (Fall) Goodin. He was a 1963 Summerfield High School graduate and married his sweetheart, Marilyn Ruth Odneal, on January 9, 1965 at Petersburg Presbyterian Church. Ron worked for Monroe County Road Commission as a truck operator for 29 years, retiring in 2007. In his early years, he played softball and basketball and could be quite the daredevil, according to his boyhood friends, many of whom he remained close with all his life. Ron also loved munching fresh radishes from his garden, drinking a few beers with his friends and neighbors, going fishing, camping and boating in Northern Michigan, cruising the backroads with his dog, Brownie, cheering on the Michigan State Spartans and spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three children, Ronald (Leanne) Goodin, Thomas (Trudy) Goodin and Christina (Michael) Crots; brother, Jerry (Ginger) Goodin; seven grandchildren, Casey (Callie), Jed (Kara), Taylor, Haley (Chris), John, Ben and Emily; and two great-grandchildren who he absolutely adored, Gemma and Camden. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, older sister and younger brother, Janet Beck and Larry Goodin.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Monroe County Humane Society.
