Richard Lee Blaesing

Richard Lee Blaesing, 77 years, of Westland, MI, died Monday October 10, 2022, in St. Mary’s Mercy Hospital, Livonia, MI. Family and friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Sunday October 16, 2022, from 3-8PM. There will be a visitation also at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Monday October 17, 2022, from 10AM until the services at 11AM. Pastor Louie Barnett of the Eagle’s Nest Community Church in Monroe, MI will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View cemetery, Petersburg, MI.

Born November 27, 1944, in Monroe, MI, Richard was the son of Carl and Anna (Carroll) Blaesing. He was a 1963 Summerfield High School Graduate. He married Janet Hotchkin Hines on April 21, 1989, in Wayne County. He served with the US Army in the Vietnam War from January 21, 1967- August 31, 1971. Richard worked for MDOT Road Commission for 23 years retiring in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion, Westland and the Moose Lodge, Ypsilanti. He loved gambling, Vegas trips, boating and fishing.

Survivors include: his wife, Janet; sister, Sharon Zorn; grandchildren of Shari and J Neely, Cole, and Regan Neely. He was preceded in death by his parents.
