Joseph Cler Labert

Joseph Cler Labert, 100 years old of Dundee, MI - died on Monday, February 14th, 2022 under the care of Elara Caring Hospice. Friends may gather at Capaul Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 22nd 2022 from 2pm to 8pm. He will lie-in-state on Wednesday, February 23rd 2022 from 10am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11am at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church (Ida, MI). Fr. Phillip Mayfield will officiate. Burial will be at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery in Deerfield, MI.


Joseph was born on January 29th, 1922 in Dundee, MI. He was the son of Joseph and Marian (Cilley) Labert. Joseph was a Dundee High School Graduate and later attended Short Course College at Michigan State University. He married Lola Wright on December 29th, 1945 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Deerfield, MI. Lola died on April 17th, 2012. Joseph was a lifelong farmer who also hauled water to numerous homes. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, founding member of Farm Bureau, and recently celebrated his 100th year birthday with family and friends.


Survivors: children - Joseph (Jackie), Jim (Deborah), Jerry (Darlene Bryant) Labert, Karen (Richard) Harmer, and Kathleen Orrick; siblings - John (Bernice) and Elwin (Betty) Labert; thirteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.


Preceded in death by: his parents Joseph and Marian, his wife Lola, his son-in-law John Orrick, and his grandson Troy Roof.
