Brenda Elaine Maurer (Denham)

Brenda Elaine Maurer (Denham), 70 yrs, of Petersburg, MI, died Thursday May 26th, 2022, in her residence under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Tuesday May 31, 2022, from 2-8PM. She will lie-in-state at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Ida, MI, Wednesday June 1, 2022, from 10 AM until the services at 11 AM. Pastor Mark McCaskill will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.

Born October 1st, 1951, in Marks, Mississippi. Brenda was the daughter of Marvin and Edna (Taylor) Denham. She attended Milan High School. Brenda married David Maurer on February 26, 1968, in Maybee, MI. David Died November 19, 2019. Brenda was a custodian for UofM for 2 yrs retiring in 1994. She previously worked for Saline Evangelical Home as a nurse’s aid for 6 years as well. She loved doing crosswords, watching TV, playing POGO on her laptop spending time in Mississippi with her cousin Earmel and Albert Cotton and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children; Brian (Terri) Maurer, Brad (Tracey)Maurer, Shawn Maurer, Rebecca Maurer, Dee (Rob) Hoffman; brothers, Robert (Brenda) Denham, David (Vonda) Denham; grandchildren, Kerri, Cael, Dayna, Mariah, Katie, Leighan (Dan), Quinn (Breanna), Brad, Makayla, Morgan (Zachary), Megan, Makenna, Madison, Robby, Aaron; great-grandchildren, Alex, Viola, Kaelyn, Delaney, Henry, Ashton, Addison, Carson, Layla and Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Glenda “Kay” Hurd, Dennis Denham, brother-in-law Bob Maurer, in-laws Francis (Bug) and Margie Maurer and four grandsons Kaleb, Kellen, Jarrett and Anden
