Alvina Violet Wohlgamuth

March 1st, 1932 - January 23rd, 2022

Alvina Violet Woolford was born on March 1st, 1932 in Warren Michigan to John and Leona Woolford. She then moved to Petersburg when she was three years old where she graduated from Summerfield High School. Alvina met her husband, Allyn Wohlgamuth, when she was five years old, they dated in high school and were married in 1951. Alvina worked several odd jobs in Petersburg throughout the years, her first job was a switchboard operator in Petersburg, other jobs were, planting tomatoes, babysitting, selling Beeline clothing and Beauty Counselor cosmetics but her favorite job was working at the Summerfield Market in Petersburg. She loved kidding with the customers, neighbors, and town folk. Alvina later worked as an ultrasound technician in Toledo for a Chiropractor and retired in 1997. Alvina enjoyed reading Books written by Karen Kingsbury, playing pinochle, working puzzles and traveling. Her favorite vacation was “Aruba”.

Alvina moved to Waterville Ohio in 1999, however, Alvina always said, “Petersburg will always be my home”. Married 71 years, four children were born from this loving marriage, Anita (Ron) Wagner, Rick Wohlgamuth, Rita (Ken) Gilson, Renee Sambiagio. Eight grandchildren, John, Todd, Chad, Joseph, Shay, Haley, Brandy, Tiffany and thirteen great grandchildren. Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved twin brother Alvin (Sonny) Woolford and her oldest great-grandchild Collin Doyle. Alvina left this world peacefully on January 20th, 2022, and will sadly be missed by all who knew her. Donations can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Elara Caring Hospice.

Visitation will be Tuesday January 25th, 2022, from 6-8PM at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI. All services and burial at Pleasant View Cemetery are private. The family is requesting for visitation to please wear a mask and exercise social distancing.
