Ruth Thela Schwichtenberg

Ruth Thela Schwichtenberg, 88 yrs, of Petersburg, MI, died Wednesday August 18th, 2021, in Blissfield Place cared for by Carline Hospice. Friends may call on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021, at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, from 2-8 PM. There will also be a visitation for Ruth on Monday August 23rd, 2021, at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, from 10 AM until the services at 11 AM. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.

Born March 22, 1933, in Samaria, MI, Ruth was the daughter of Homer (Butch) and Bertha (Stone) Heckel. She was a 1952 Bedford High School Graduate. She married Ray Schwichtenberg on August 15th, 1953 in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Petersburg, MI. Ray died January 15, 1996. Ruth drove a bus for Summerfield Schools for 25 yrs and previously worked for REVCO. She loved playing cards, and spending time with family, friends and neighbors. She also took great pride in manicuring her lawn daily.

Survivors include: children, Roland Schwichtenberg, Jeff (Amber) Schwichtenberg, Arlene Tibbetts, Cheryl (Joe) Majors, Charlotte (Tom) Schadewald; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Jay Heckel, Helen Harbaugh and Alberta Heckel.
