Kimberly Ann Brownell-Gulley

June 11th, 1968 - August 3rd, 2021

Kimberly Ann Brownell-Gulley, 53 yrs, of LaSalle, MI, died Tuesday, August 3, 2021, under the care of her family and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. On Monday, August 9, 2021, a Memorial Gathering at Zion United Methodist Church, LaSalle, MI, from 10 AM until the Memorial Service at 11 AM. Born June 11, 1968 in Monroe, MI. Kimberly was the daughter of Donald and Denna (Simmons) Brownell. She was a 1986 Ida High School Graduate, later earning an Associates Degree from Monroe County Community College in 1988 and a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University in 1991. She married Bill Riley Gulley Jr. on July 24, 1999, in Zion United Methodist Church, LaSalle, MI. She taught for St. Francis D'Assisi (Detroit, MI), Fairlane Christian School (Dearborn), and finally teaching 6th-grade Literature and Reading for Ida Middle School for over 20 yrs. She was a Zion United Methodist Church member where she taught Sunday School and was part of the Women's Group. She was Vice President of the Ida Education Association, a CLC Representative on Monroe and Lenawee Counties, and part of the Central Labor Committee. Kimberly loved to read, garden, travel and spend time with family. Survivors include her husband, Bill; children, Ethan William and Olivia Emmaline Gulley; parents, Donald and Denna Brownell; sisters, Julia (Eric) Weiler, Dawn (Jim) Adie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Berneta Brownell and James and Cotina Simmons.


Kimberly was a born-again Christian who loved and served the Lord and is now rejoicing in Heaven. Memorial contributions can be made to Zion United Methodist Food Closet or the House of Restoration.
