Kenneth James Meagher

Kenneth James Meagher, 77 yrs, of Dundee formerly of Ida, MI, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021, in his residence. Family and Friends may visit from 5-8pm on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Capaul Funeral Home in Ida, MI. He will lie-in-state on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ida, MI. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.

Born October 30, 1944, in Ferndale, MI. Kenneth was the son of Fred and Evelyn (Dickson) Meagher. He served honorably with the US Army during the Vietnam War from January 10, 1968- December 10, 1969. He married Mary Louise Gorzkiewicz (Garcia) on June 21, 2008 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Deerfield, MI. Kenneth worked for GM Powertrain, Ypsilanti until it closed then worked for GM Toledo, for 39 yrs, retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Deerfield, MI and a member of the VFW. Whenever he could he and Mary would load up his RV to head camping and traveling. A few of his favorite trips were out west to see the International Balloon festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico and when they took his Pa Garcia to see Mount Rushmore. He loved NASCAR (Dale Earnhardt) and College football and rarely missed a U of M Game. More than anything else he adored watching his grandchildren grow up and he was enamored by his wife Mary.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Gorzkiewicz-Meagher; children, Michael (Katherine) Meagher, Tina (Scott) Macuga; step-children, Karen (John) Lucht, Lisa (Scott) Nash, Herb (Alicia) Gorkiewicz, Max (Jamie) Gorzkiewicz; grandchildren, Nicholas, Paul, Jacob, Kurtis, Austin, Lucas, Cody, Lauren and great-grandchildren, Harper, Taylor and Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Harold Meagher, James Meagher and Donna Meagher Brockway.
