Frank Mata

January 10, 1931 - February 7th, 2021

Frank Mata, age 90 of Ida, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2021, at Fountain View nursing home in Monroe.


Born January 10, 1931, in Monroe, Frank was the son of John and Emma (Dunney) Mata. He married Nancy Ramsey, June 22, 1963, in Ida.


Frank was employed by Ford Motor Company for 26 years, retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of the Korean War receiving a purple heart for his service from October 31, 1951- August 19, 1953. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.


Frank is survived by his son, Tim (Tammy) Mata; his daughter-in-law, Paula Cilley; his brother, Charlie Mata; grandchildren; Chad (Kelly) Cilley; Todd (Christine) Cilley; Dawn (Tim) Mason; Carly Fabbri; and Stacy Fabbri; great-grandchildren; David, Tyler, Caden, Khloe, and Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughter, Laura Mata; his son, Harold Cilley; his twin brother, Fred Mata; brothers Alex Mata and Joseph Mata; and sisters Irene Franzan and Joann Geiman.


Cremation has occurred. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date.
