Debra Lou Fournier

April 19th, 1955 - November 9th, 2021

Debra Lou Fournier, 66 years of Petersburg MI, died on Tuesday November 9th, 2021, in her residence under the care of Promedica Hospice. Friends may call Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Sunday November 14th 2021 from 2pm to 8pm. She will lie in state at Capaul Funeral Home on Monday November 15th 2021 from 10am until the services at 11am. Burial will be at Pleasantview Cemetery in Petersburg MI.


Born on April 19th 1955, in Tecumseh MI. Debra was the daughter of David and Betty (Fouts) Spaulding. She was a 1979 Bedford High School graduate who later earned her Associates Degree from MCCC and a Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Michigan University in Social Work. She married Ronald Perry SR. on July 30th 1971, they divorced in 1987 and remained lifelong friends, George Holcomb on April 25th 1991, George died in 2001 and later married Larry Fournier on February 15th 2003 in Monroe MI. Larry died January 9th 2015. Debra was a Director of Social Services at Beaches Nursing Home for four years, then at the Lutheran Home in Monroe MI for 15 years, later retiring from Magnum Monroe MI in 2016 after working two years. Debra was a member of the National Association of Social Workers who loved creating oil paintings, writing published poetry, and crocheting.


Survivors include: children - Ronald (Lisa) Perry JR, Amanda Neiding; mother - Betty Spaulding; siblings - David (Diane) Spaulding JR and Douglas (Kay) Spaulding and grandchildren - Abigail, Joshua, and Griffin. Debra was preceded in death by her father David, her husband's George and Larry, and a son-in-law Daniel Neiding.
