David Michael Mecum Sr.

David Michael Mecum Sr., 54 years, of Ida MI, died Thursday, December 16, 2021, in ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital, Monroe, MI. Friends may gather for a memorial gathering on Wednesday December 29, 2021 from 10AM until the memorial service at 12PM. Reverend Steve Newell will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be in Lulu Cemetery, Ida, MI. A Remembrance of Life will be held the same day at The Greenleaf Mansion in Onstead, MI following the burial. Please bring a dish to pass to the Memorial Gathering.

Born September 28, 1967, in Warren, MI. David was the son of Norwood and Josephine (Johnson) Mecum. On June 5th, 1992, he and Trina Opel were married in Toledo, OH. His most recent employment included driving trucks for Crystal Flash and Ressco LLC as a facilities maintenance technician. David enjoyed the outdoors, camping, traveling, hockey, time with his grandchildren, do-it-yourself home and automotive repairs, and attending religious services at Bedford Alliance Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Trina; children, David Mecum Jr., Timmy Villarreal, Autumn (Joel) Mathre; mother, Josephine Greene; sisters, Madeline (Rick) Daniels, Stacie (Roy) Boden, Melissa (Larry) Denniss, Michelle (Jay) Quintero; grandchildren, Jacob, Zach, and Arlo Mecum and Jacqueline Mathre. He was preceded in death by his father, Norwood, 2nd father, Robert Greene, grandparents, Edna and Ralph Mecum and Maxine Fink.
