Betty started school at 4, was quick-witted and quite ambitious. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1945 at 17. Later in life, Betty took care of her husband at home and in the nursing home for 2 and a half years, until his death on July 16th, 2015. Betty said, "Wayne was the best" and she missed him dearly. Her son, Tom checked in on her daily or Jason her grandson did. Betty enjoyed cards, dominos, puzzles and reading. She was also a 4-H leader. Betty also loved traveling back to Canada, to visit "kinfolk" in Binbrook, Ontario.

Betty faithfully attended Prince of Peace when able, taught Sunday and Bible School and worked at the funeral dinners for years. Betty drove until she was 91. Betty also enjoyed Bedford Senior Citizens playing Euchre of course. On Sundays in the past, she enjoyed lunch and grocery shopping with her grandson, Jason after church services as he lived much closer than her grandson, Daniel.
