Mattie "Pat" Virginia Thompson (Short), 82 yrs of Petersburg, MI, died Sunday, December 13, 2020, in Cambrian Senior Living in Tecumseh, MI. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, all services were private.

Born May 8, 1938, in Mount Gilead, OH, Mattie was the daughter of Henry and Julia (Asher) Short. She was a 1956 Summerfield High School Graduate. She married Dale Thompson Sr on March 2, 1957, in Summerfield Twp. Dale died on February 2, 2018. Mattie was a full-time mom and grandmother. She was a member of Petersburg United Methodist Church, Petersburg, MI, and loved traveling the world, spending time up north at the family cabin, walking, reading, casino trips, and loving her family.

Survivors include her children, Dale (Kelly) Jr., David, Kimberly (David) Scheich, Cheryl (Keith) Baranowski; brother, Herb (Merideth) Short; sisters-in-law, Shirley Buske Topfer, Marilyn Blunt; grandchildren, Jennifer Foster, Holly (Chris) Curry, Stephanie (Nick) Bub, Pastor James (Nicole) Zatko, Justin (Christa) Thompson, Brandon Thompson and great-grandchildren, Ella, Chase, Isabel, Asher Curry, Logan, Tyler, Jonathan Zatko, Jaxon, Charleigh Foster, Lucas, Nathan Bub, and Orin Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Harold Dean Short, and a sister-in-law, Donna Henry.
