Clarence “Sonnie” Herbert Eyler Jr.

Clarence “Sonnie” Herbert Eyler Jr., died Friday September 27, 2024, surrounded by his family. Friends may gather at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, from 10 AM until 11AM on Wednesday October 2, 2024, and will proceed to Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI, for committal and burial.

Born May 3, 1940, in Petersburg, MI. Sonnie was the son of Clarence Sr. and Gretchen (Fedell) Eyler. He graduated form Summerfield Highschool in 1958. He served with the US Army in Germany from 1959-1961. He married Suzanna Wohlgamuth on September 1, 1959. Suzanna died November 11, 1999. Sonnie was an insurance agent for New York Life for 30 years retiring in 2005. He loved golfing, U of M sports and watching grandchildren’s sporting events.

Survivors include: his children, Brian, Dean and Vickie Eyler; grandchildren, Trenton, Ethan, Ava, Lucas, Norah, Casie, Dustin and Brittany and great-grandchildren, Klayton, McKenzie, Haylie and Ryder. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
