Lavern "Pete" Carl Schlump

July 5th, 1937 - April 16th, 2021

Lavern "Pete" Carl Schlump, 83 yrs of Ida, MI, died Friday, April 16, 2021, in Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania, OH. He will lie-in-state on Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 10 AM until the services at 12 PM at East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Monroe, MI. Pastor Curtis Garland will officiate. Burial will be in East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Ida, MI.


Born July 5, 1937, in Ida, MI. Lavern was the son of Carl and Mildred (Bork) Schlump. He was a 1956 Ida High School Graduate. He married Pauline Friedrich on September 10, 1960, in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Petersburg, MI. Lavern was a lifelong farmer in addition to driving a school bus for Ida Public School for 2 years and then he worked for the Ida Farmers Co-Op for 30 yrs retiring in 1999. He was a member of East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Monroe, Mi, where he was in the Men's Club. He loved to play dart ball, softball, cards, traveling, especially trips up north to the cabin, and to watch the Detroit Tigers.


Survivors include his wife of 60 yrs, Pauline; 6 children, Ronald (Pamela) Schlump, Rick (Karen) Schlump, Debra Galbreath, Donna (Rickie) Derby, Dawn (Ron) Wobser, and Randy Schlump; 9 grandchildren, Krista (Sergio) Sernas, Karynn (Matthew) Gunn, John Schlump, Erica (Richie) Baxter, Chelsea (Justin) Coker, Jessica (Jeremy) Stuchel, Zachary Galbreath, Scott Wobser, Joseph Wobser; 15 great-grandchildren, Adrian, Gabriel, Jaydon, Jack, Colt, Maliah, Garrett, Eli, Avery, Chance, Dakota, Olivia, Andrea, Julian, Liam and a sister, Elaine Mack. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law James Mack.
