Thomas Henry Ruehs

1944 - 2021

Thomas Henry Ruehs, 76 yrs, of Dundee, MI, died peacefully at home surrounded by the family under the care of ProMedica Hospice. Friends may gather at the Ruehs Family Farm on Thursday, May 27, 2021, from 3-7 PM. He will lie in-state on Friday, May 28, 2021, from 10 AM until the services at 11 AM at West Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ida, MI. Pastor Kathi Boland will officiate. Burial will be in West Ida Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Ida, MI.


Born November 2, 1944, in Monroe, MI. Thomas was the son of Henry and Florence (Smith) Ruehs. He attended Dundee High School. He married Ruth Ann Parriet on July 11, 1970, in West Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ida, MI. He was a farmer on Ruehs farms and retire in 1995. He also worked for Mormons, Pettisville Grain Co., and made ice cream for Calder's Farm.  He loved woodworking, his Christmas Village, watching the Lone Ranger, Perry Mason, watching SpongeBob SquarePants with the grandkids, and raising animals for 4H. 


Survivors include his wife Ruth; son, Matthew (Christen) Ruehs; brother, Charles (Juanita) Ruehs Sr.; grandchild, Sydney Ruehs; step-grandchildren, Ayden, Noah Bird, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents who raised him, George and Viola Ruehs. A son, Steven Ruehs; half-sister, Judy Preston and nephews, Richard Pinchoff and Thomas Krueger.
