Barbara “Barb” Lou (Reynolds) Gerber

May 30, 1961 - January 1. 2025

Barbara “Barb” Lou (Reynolds) Gerber - 63 years of Taylor, Michigan - died on Wednesday January 1st, 2025, at the Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, under care of the ICU surrounded by family. Cremation has occurred.

Born on May 30, 1961 - in Toledo, OH - Barb was the daughter of Jan and Ed Reynolds. She grew up the oldest and had 3 siblings Ed, Gerald, and Thomas.  Barb went to Ida Public Schools her whole life, graduating from Ida High School in 1979. She met the love of her life, Alan R. Gerber, and they got married in Toledo in September of 1988. Barb and Al liked going up north to see the sights, but mainly to go Northern Pike fishing.

Barb went on to have many different jobs, but the highlights of her work experience are bartending at the American Legion Post 514 for about 25 years.  She became a member of the Women’s Auxiliary due to this job and her grandfather being a veteran. She also liked her various jobs at Mathess Evergreen Farm, Aunt Millie’s, and of course Amazon, where she retired from in May of 2024. She had been there since their grand opening and made so many amazing friends along the way.

When she wasn’t working you could find her playing Pokémon Go! Or Animal Crossing, crafting, playing board games or card games with her daughter Annie, son in laws Ryan and Tony, and any other friends & family members who were around!  She also spent a lot of time in Monroe, with her mom, Jan. She loved trying new recipes and sharing them with her family.  She also had a real passion and talent for baking.  She ALWAYS kept her family in supply of zucchini bread with their fresh grown zucchini from the garden that she & Al grew together and put so much hard work and dedication into.

Those who knew Barb, knew that she was an animal lover.  She always bragged about her 5 grand-kittens, Mason, Hazel, Zelda, Salem and Luna, and her grand-puppy Bear.  Her favorite thing was to cuddle the kittens while they climbed all over her. Bear was absolutely smitten with his Gram, when she came over, he was stuck to her like glue.

She is survived by her mother Jan Reynolds, her daughter Annie, her sons-in-law Ryan and Tony.  Preceded in death by her father Ed Reynolds, her 3 brothers Ed, Gerald and Thomas, and her loving husband Alan Gerber.
