Mary Ellen Stahl, 81 yrs, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, August 11th at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Thursday, from 1-9 PM. She will lie in state Friday, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Petersburg, from 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Pastor Mark Flory will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.

Born July 23, 1929, in Dundee, she was the daughter of Elmer and Ella (Arendt) Beland. A Petersburg High School Graduate, she earned her Associates Degree in Education from Michigan State Normal College, and taught in the Mason, Petersburg, and Deerfield schools. Mary Ellen married Clinton M Stahl Jr, August 6, 1949, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Petersburg. He died December 21, 2009. They had celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in August, 2009. She and her husband owned and operated Stahl's Florist and Greenhouse from 1956 until 2002.

Survivors include: sons, Tom (Nancy), and Bill; daughter's in law, Christina Stahl and Colleen Stahl; grandchildren, Melissaa, David, Michelle, Andy, Laura, Marsha, Phillip, Amy, Daniel, and Megan; and great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Dean, Ty, Natalie, Faith, Leah, David, and Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, David, and brothers, Percy, Clarence "Jack", and Robert Beland.
