Alice A. Soldwisch, 96 years, of Ida, MI, died peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Aspen Grove, Lambertville. Visitation will be Saturday, January 7, from 11 AM until services at 1 PM, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Summerfield. Pastor Albert Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born May 21, 1915, in Ida Twp, Alice was the daughter of Irving and Jessie (Vaughan) Strack. She married Ernest William Soldwisch, February 9, 1935, in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He died July 26 1994. She lived her life in service and care of others. Alice worked in physical therapy at Flower Hospital, Willy's Clinic, and Lake Park Hospital. She was a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Summerfield, where she shared her caring spirit through many volunteer efforts, including sewing and quilting, which she dearly loved.
Alice is survived by sons-in-law, Thomas (Barbara) Colvin and Arthur Keel; grandchildren: Ann Marie [Colvin] (Glenn) Ruff, Anthony Phillip (Catherine) Colvin, Todd Michael (Chrissy) Keel; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Devin Ruff, Olivia and Laila Colvin, Caleb Gillen, Tyler and Riley Keel; and step-grandchildren, Wendy Miller, Rob Keel, and Allen Keel, who were all blessed with her love and care. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, daughters, Audrey (Soldwisch) Colvin and Loverda (Soldwisch) Keel; sister, Helen (Strack) Burkett, and brothers, Warren Strack and Oliver Strack. Special thanks to nephew Wilbur (Carolyn) Burkett and cousin Yvonne Strack, for the love and attention to Alice. Thanks also to the care givers at Aspen Grove and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
Memorial donations for Alice may be made to: Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Summerfield, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or the charity of the donor's choice.
