Eleanor I. Thomson, 90 yrs, of Ida, MI, passed away in her home, Monday, May 24th. She had been in declining health for several months. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Wednesday, from 10 AM until 9 PM. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home Thursday at 11 AM. Pastor Sang "Abraham" Chun, of the Ida United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lulu Cemetery, Ida.

Eleanor was born August 10, 1919, in Cleveland, OH. Her parents, Gloyd H. and Grace A. (Jump) Young, moved to Toledo, OH, where she spent most of her childhood. She graduated from DeVillbis High School in 1937, and married Robert H. Thomson on September 24, 1938, in Napoleon, OH. They moved to Ida, MI, in 1945 where they operated the Young & Thomson Greenhouse.

Eleanor worked for Broer-Freeman Jewelers and the family business, Admaster Creations. She was active and held offices in numerous organizations including: Young Matrons, Woman's Club of Toledo, Toastmistress International, National Association of Specialty Advertising Ladies, Campfire, Ida United Methodist Church Council, and was a charter member of River Raisin Sweet Adelines. Eleanor also enjoyed several bridge clubs and organized the Weekenders Travel Club with her husband, Bob. They enjoyed traveling, singing, and playing cards and games with family and friends.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Sandee (James M.) Bowman, her son, James (Margie) Thomson; grandchildren, Tracy H. (Tami) Thomson, Robin (Dan) Sweat, Brett Thomson, Becky Bowman, Jackie Bowman, and Kelley Bowman; great-grandchildren, Michael Foster, Hailey Thomson, Charley Robert Thomson, and Lauren Thomson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 yrs, and an infant brother, Clifford.
