Richard James Speer, 52 yrs, of Ottawa Lake, died Friday, November 5th, at his residence. Visitation will be at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Wednesday, from 4-7 PM. Cremation will follow. There will be no other services.

Born December 12, 1957, in Toledo, he was the son of Richard C. and Georgine V. (Finley) Speer. A veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force, he was an Electrician for Ford Motor Co, Flat Rock, employed for 20 yrs. Previously, he was co-owner of Aqua Hut in Toledo. A former member of the Reformation Lutheran Church, Toledo, he was a member of the United Auto Workers and loved hunting, fishing, scuba-diving, camping, and was known as a "Jack of all Trades".

Surviving are: daughters, Kristy (Tim) Tereschuk, of Hancock, MI, Laura (Kevin) Iott, of Petersburg, MI; brother, Randy (Carolyn) Speer, of Fremont, OH; and grandchildren, Katelyn, Keira, and Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents.
