Lawrence F. "Bud" Schmidt, 82 years, of Petersburg, died on Thursday, December 23rd. Friends may call at Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, 1-9PM Monday. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 28th, at the funeral home at 11AM. Pastor Ted Kerr of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.

Born March 14th, 1928 in Petersburg. Lawrence was the son of Fredrick and Clara (Bolinger) Schmidt. He married Ruby E. Kirkman on March 22nd, 1947 in Temperance MI. She died October 31, 1998. He was employed by R.H. Dewey Co. for 30 years as a Construction Engineer. He was a member of Ohio Operating Engineers, loved hunting and tinkering on many things.

Survivors include: sons, Aaron "Mike", William (Bonnie); daughter, Ellen (Robert) Fick; brothers, Norman, Ray (Eileen), John (Joyce); sisters, Mary Segur, Velda Seger, Donna (Sonny) Eighmey, Janet Mae; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby; and son Lawrence "Butch".

Memorial contributions for Mr. Schmidt may be made to the American Lung Association.
