Mark Matthias, 51 years, of Deerfield, beloved son of Richard and Dorothy Matthias, died October 15, 2010. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Deerfield United Methodist Church, Tuesday, from 5 PM until a Memorial Service at 5:30 PM. Pastor Michael Clemmer will officiate.

Mark was born April 29, 1959, in Toledo, OH. He was a 1977 graduate of Deerfield High School, and had been employed as a mailer at the Toledo Blade for the past 24 yrs. Mark loved to tell a good story, and was often part of one. His kindness and generosity will be missed as well as his contagious laugh and sense of humor. He was every nieces and nephews favorite uncle, and best friend to many.

Surviving are: his father, Richard; brothers, Donald (Wanda), of Columbiaville, MI, James (Emma), of Somerset, MI, Bob (Michele), of Brooklyn Hgts., MI; sisters, Laura (Rusty) Rapai, of Carleton, MI, Susan (Mike) Burguard, of Honor, MI, Judy (Martin) Fowler, of Deerfield, MI, Sandy (Joe) Drake, of Tucson, AZ, Donna Matthias, of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother, Kenneth, and a sister, Caro.
