Joseph Aaron Lowry, 65 yrs, of Monroe, formerly of Florence, AL, died Wednesday, May 18th at Tender Care of Monroe, while under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe. Cremation will take place. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 AM until the Memorial Service at 12:00 PM, at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida. Burial of Cremains will be in Whiteford-Union Cemetery, Lambertville.

Born October 31, 1944, in Toledo, OH, Joseph was the son of Talmhie and Bessie Mae (Fine) Lowry. A 1963 Ida High School Graduate, Joseph was a Police Officer for various cities and counties in Alabama, retiring in 2003. He had also been employed at a Girl Scout Camp in Alabama. Joseph married Debra Williams in Florence, AL. She died June 6, 2006.

Survivors include: a son, Jess Thomas (Donna) Lowry; a daughter, Christine Marie Lowry; brothers, John Emmett (Nellie) Lowry, Robert (Melanie) Lowry; sisters, Sharon Lee Antoine, Martha (Bill) Slinker; and grandchildren, Erin and Alex; special nieces and nephews, Kim, Lisa, Gina, Victoria, Pam, LaDean, Jason, Gene, Mark, Jon Mark, and Bill. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, "Skip"; a brother, Thomas; the mother of his children, Barbara (Netcher) Lowry; and a nephew, Peter G. Lowry.
